The project team will work closely with the community as it develops plans to reduce or eliminate potential project impacts.

There will be minimal on-site coal storage and all trucks will be covered to eliminate coal dust.

 

Blasting will not normally be required during mine operation (other than during construction) so there will be little or no noise impacts from blasting. Trucks will connect directly to the inland Island Highway using existing industrial roads.

 

Dust and noise levels will be monitored throughout the project, as part of the environmental management plan.
